The Forgotten Worlds series combines ancient, mythical lands with modern technologies and superpowers. The trilogy revolves around Benjamin Holt, a seemingly normal person. But one summer, he is shipped off to a special school, and learns he is no human. In fact, he is a telegen, a superhuman that can use telepathy, telegnosis, telekinesis, teleportation, and scientific abilities. He also learns that the ancient continents Lemuria and Atlantis, are in fact real. They have just been purposely sunk into the ocean. At school, he learns how to use, control, and improve his skills. Benjamin also meets a rare Nogical, named Jack. Nogicals are genetically modified telegens. They are like pixies, and their powers are amplified, making them more powerful than a normal telegen. Benjamin makes four friends: Andy, Iva, Heidi, and Gary. Each of them has an area strength. For example, Heidi can slip past even the strongest mind barriers, so her strength is telepathy. As the friends explore school grounds, they find a secret room containing the Emerald Tablet, an ancient artifact. The tablet forms a bond between them. An Alliance, it says. Their mission is to find three ancient keys and repair the force field boundary over Atlantis to make sure telegens do not get out into the real world. Benjamin and his friends learn that some telegens there want to control humans, so they know how important it is to seal the border. Using a very helpful digital globe, they find all three keys and are ready to repair the boundary, but a betrayal that shocks them all catches Benjamin off guard. Luckily, and surprisingly, a powerful telegen is there to help him out...

This trilogy is great for readers who like fantasy. It is packed with myths and legends in our world, mysteries that I think should be left unsolved. I admit it is fun to read about how author perceives the legend and turns it into an exciting story. But, the characters seem a little too well put together. Having a group of people who excel at one skill, each one different, seems too perfect to be a coincidence. Benjamin also meets the very rare Nogical on the first day of class. The teacher states that he has not seen one in a long time. That does not seem like much of a coincidence. Usually things do not happen that way in life. But then again, they are in Lemuria.

I also think that the storyline is a bit confusing, due to the time traveling that starts in the middle of the series. It is also an effect of the different time flows. For example, a year in one place can be equivalent to two days in another place and another time. The time hopping is confusing because you need to figure out the relationship of events that happened in the past and/or future and how they affect the present time. The author kind of lets the reader figure that out, which makes it all the more interesting. I also had a hard time in one or two places knowing where the characters were and which time period they are in.

Overall, this series was great, though! The character development was noticeable for some, though for some you need to pay more attention to. The plot also moved at a great pace.

This series is available on the reading platform Epic. That is where I read most of my books. It also may be online as a PDF. I hope you like this series!

Enjoy the books!
