The Hunger Games trilogy is a series of three books: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. It follows the main character Katniss Evergreen in the country of Panem, which is America in the future. She lives in the twelfth district of the country, known for its coal mines. Under the strict rule of the Capital, the district is in poverty, and many family have little food and shelter.
When her sister is chosen to go into the annual Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers in her place, and is put with the male tribute, Peeta Mellark. They are taken by train to the Capital, where they undergo training with tributes from the other districts. They also are interviewed by Caesar Flickerman, and the interviews are shown on live TV.
When the games begin, Katniss must fight and stay alive until all others are killed. She is forced to use quick thinking in the arena, sometimes costing her as well. Will she be able to stay alive?
I would tell the ending, but that would be spoiling!
